The Absurdity Of “You’re Too Pretty To Be Single”
“Being a single woman is not a moral failure, nor is it a harrowing result of being ugly. A woman’s looks have nothing to do with jack shit.”
If you have been a woman for as long as I have, you will have lived through many of the most ridiculous conversations in existence, which is always initiated by horny men who claim they want to get to know you better, but in actuality they just want to sleep with you and move on to the next warm body.
This time-waster of a dialogue usually begins with a man approaching a woman who is minding her business. He either gives her a compliment or says something stupid that he believes she can relate to, because that’s what men do. Then he proceeds to interview her as if he is being paid to perform an IRS audit and proceeds to ask her name, her age, where she lives, if she has kids, and more. If a woman passes this first test he then goes for the kill.
“So, do you have a man?”
If a woman says no, he always follows up with the following response:
“Why? You’re too pretty to be single.”
