Women volunteering useless information about the people they refuse to divorce, leave alone, accept, or cut off comes standard with any friendship.

I don’t believe any of us were meant to derive a sense of pride in holding on to dead things, including our connections with others and the endless pursuit of avoiding the boogey man known as loneliness. Still, make-believe morality rules where we are seen as bad people if we don’t remain loyal to those we’ve outgrown trumps common sense and doing what we must for our health and well-being. So we silently suffer and cope with our voluntary suffering in ridiculous ways.

One major reason why I continue to question the purpose of sisterhoods and girlfriends is because I have pinpointed a popular, socially acceptable coping mechanism in women that seems to innocently make its way into so many friendship circles everywhere.

What I am talking about is gossip.
