The Art Of Becoming The Nonchalant (Yet Paid) Entrepreneur
Nobody’s opinions of you should be more important than your money.
One of the most beautiful acts of self-love that I have cultivated was to quit arguing with people. While I am important in my own mind, I understand that my self-proclaimed (and unapologetic) narcissism should not be used in ways that are unproductive.
In my opinion, arguing is one of the most unproductive activities one can engage in. I mean, argue for what?! I have nothing to prove to anyone. My thoughts are my own. My choices and opinions belong to me and me alone. I don’t expect anyone to agree with me, nor do I need anyone to be on board and support the way I live my life.
As a writer I encounter all sorts of unhinged folks on Trump’s internet. And for some strange reason they are always giving me their unsolicited opinions, as if I care about them.
“How can you say that?”
“I agree with you, but…”
“I completely disagree!”
What if I told you that I really don’t care? Whether you agreed with me or not I still got paid!
Sounds harsh, right? Of course it does, especially when you are a consumer. On the other hand, cultivating a cut-and-dry attitude is truly an entrepreneur’s saving grace. I mean, what…
