You capture immortality as a mortal human by living each day as if it were your last. This is the truth about forever: it is found in those moments we take for granted. So cherish them.

So Bella couldn’t fathom existing as a human being and having to part ways with Edward through death. He was the only part of her life that made her feel alive, and she wanted to freeze that feeling eternally through becoming a vampire. Due to the overwhelming success of the Twilight Saga franchise I am sure many, many individuals from all walks of life would give anything to receive the opportunity to fall in love and live happily ever after with their special person like Bella did.

While I believe the saga ended beautifully, with Bella and Edward recognizing that they literally have forever to spend with each other, I had to ask myself if I had the chance to give up my soul to tether my existence to this earth for eternity but receive everything I thought I’ve ever wanted, would I take it?

Would you?

We fear death because we don’t want to let go. We are scared to process the feelings of loss that comes with being vulnerable and letting someone into our lives, only for them to leave. As a result, we numb ourselves emotionally and pretend we don’t want to experience the joys of life like romance because we know it’s going to…
