We lie to ourselves because we are convinced that we must create identities out of temporary circumstances that we stubbornly uphold as permanent shrines in our reality.

I don’t really care how long I will live; I don’t know when Death will call my number and that’s not an event I give too much of my mental and emotional energy to figuring out. My focus is on enjoying a high quality of life with the time I know I have, which is the present moment. And let’s be real: a high quality of life involves being healthy, vibrant, resourceful and attractive. I don’t care what anyone says, looks do matter. Spiritually speaking, feeling good about yourself is a powerful creation tool. Women who feel good about themselves are naturally alluring and magnetic.

I should add that being attractive does not mean you must do whatever it takes to follow a beauty standard that only a select few people on earth naturally meet through their genetics…or money. Shit, as a dark-skinned black woman I certainly do not meet the tall, thin blonde criteria either.

What I mean is that you must tap into your unique femininity and become the most beautiful version of yourself, which is a byproduct of being healthy. From decades of running around in circles I can…
