The Glorious Rise Of The Self-Assured Single Man
“Guess what, ladies! Men are realizing that wasting your time is also wasting theirs!”
I have written hundreds of articles detailing why heterosexual women should consider being single as a semi-permanent or permanent lifestyle choice instead of using this status as a very temporary springboard into yet another relationship that may end in heartbreak. But I haven’t really dedicated a lot of time discussing the other side of the straight relationship dynamic and its many changes that include men.
One of these changes is the rise of the self-assured single man, which has many people questioning what this entails and how it impacts women and society as a whole. Just like many ladies are planning their futures to never include speed dating, wedding dates, baby strollers, college funds, or matching Mr. and Mrs. bath towels, men are also exiting stage left when it comes to dating, marriage, and children.
Many hopeless romantics, religious zealots, and marriage fundamentalists may believe this mass exodus of happily single individuals is due to modern societal brainwashing, but the truth is that single people and childfree people were always a beautiful and special part of our society. It’s just that we are currently lessening the focus on the nuclear family and paying attention to them now.
