If there is one thing I’ve learned from the wannabe wives, it is that many single women are pressed to validate their femininity through a man’s success. They believe they need to measure the potency of their beauty and womanhood through the amount of success a man accumulates through being with her.
This, my friends, is the new and improved ride or die chick!
Instead of living out the urban trope where a hood chick remains in a hot-ass apartment in the projects counting stolen money, or building with a man, the modern ride or die builds her man up without ever lifting a polished nail: she inspires him! That sounds a bit more dainty and becoming, right?
Imagine being proud to be a muse to a broke-ass man? I am literally rolling my eyes right now!
So a woman is supposed to keep a man plus be solely responsible for motivating this adult human being enough for him to earn a decent living? What the hell was he doing before he found her? I mean, Jesus Christ! What other degrading roles are we supposed to add to our resumes as proof that we are “real women?”
