The Nutty Professor Is Proof That Shadow Work Is A Necessity!
We are all selfish with self-serving motives, no matter how disconnected we may feel from that part of ourselves.
This afternoon I decided to rewatch The Nutty Professor. I enjoyed the nostalgia of watching a movie from my past and crying laughing at many scenes that brought me joy when I was younger, especially the intimate family moments at the dinner table with Momma pushing everyone’s buttons.
“Sherman’s gonna have relations, Sherman’s gonna have relations…”
Still, for the duration of the movie I began to pick up on subtleties that were not so obvious to me when I first watched this movie decades ago. As a spiritually-gifted woman I saw the hidden cosmic law of duality rear its head, where viewers were conditioned to root for Professor Sherman Klump rather than Buddy Love, his adversary who eventually wanted to kill him.
If you are familiar with the movie you would know that Buddy and Sherman were essentially one in the same. Buddy was the external subconscious manifestation that Sherman desperately wanted to embody as his only self, but Sherman felt that his weight held him back from adapting certain attributes of Buddy’s like confidence, assertiveness, charisma, style, and more.
