The Real Reason Why Parents Police Content Creators
“Nobody can tell me that any person who feels the need to police anyone they don’t agree with loves their lives!”
I am up watching an informative YouTube video created by a doctor. Before he got into the meat and potatoes of his content he provided a warning to all parents, stating that if they have young children they should probably tune in at a later time when they are not around their kids.
As a family physician it does make a bit of sense to get on camera and warn that the topics he was covering in that particular video was going to be explicit. I am sure some parents want their kids to be informed on what’s going on in their bodies so they allow their children to watch his content regularly. But in the other corners of YouTube exists many disgruntled parents who don’t have even five seconds of free time to themselves, so they resort to harassing content creators who curse or discuss sexually-charged topics into uploading more family-friendly content. Even though many family-friendly YouTube channels exist.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, these are the extreme lengths some of these parents go to police strangers online who are trying to earn a living, make a few dollars on the side, or raise awareness about the issues that matter to them. No matter what the end goal, we must bow to the demands of mommies…
