The Sacredness Of Losing Your Mind: Navigating Your Dark Night Of The Soul With Sophistication

From my experience, I define the dark night of the soul as a period of time when life decides to shift shit around and redirect your trajectory. During this time nothing makes sense. You may find yourself crying spontaneously for days on end. Sleeplessness is extremely common. Aggravation and depression will become your faithful companions as you will feel utterly removed from everything and everyone you know. You may not feel like yourself, as if your soul is floating around somewhere. After the process is complete you will most certainly feel like you just got off a wild roller coaster that caused you to vomit and purge yourself of anything that you no longer need in the next phase of your life.

You may have heard of the astrological phenomenon known as the Saturn return. One’s Saturn returns can very well be considered dark nights of the soul too. This occurs when the planet returns to the placement (sign, house, degree) that it was in when you were born. If you would like more information on your particular placements I suggest you obtain your natal chart. Most people experience their first Saturn return at 29 years old, and usually have two or three more returns over the course of their lives.
