Do not allow anyone’s problems and demands to come before your obligation to yourself and your health.
Now it should come as no surprise that eating while you are frustrated, busy or stressed is not healthy. At my former job one of my coworkers was an older, very fit and health-conscious woman who warned me to never eat lunch while I worked, a habit millions of people are accustomed to. One, this habit that’s been normalized in our rushed society impacts digestion negatively, plus we are more likely to choose foods that immediately gratify us at the expense of our health when we eat while our bodies are in fight or flight mode.
On a subconscious level, when we make time for everyone and everything while we are eating we are prioritizing the people, tasks and responsibilities that destroy our bodies over those rituals that restore our bodies, such as sitting down to relax and enjoy a nutritious meal.
Never allow anyone to downplay and disregard your need to eat while in a relaxed and calm state! Don’t allow anyone to bring you their problems and drama while you eat. Tell…
