The Villain Era, And Why Love Is No Longer A Basic Human Right (If It Ever Was)

People don’t date people. They date products that happen to have heartbeats.

Yes, love can be a basic human right. But it isn’t, and it won’t be for a very long time. Humans don’t love, at least not in the ways we think. Instead, humans use. They exploit. They manipulate. And the worst thing is that most are not even aware that this is what they are doing. But the villain is. The villain is in tune with her primal nature and doesn’t attempt to moralize who she is. The villain is well aware that all of life is manipulation. Beauty is manipulation. Money is manipulation. Health is manipulation. Survival requires manipulation. So does success.

So no, people don’t date people. They date products that happen to have heartbeats. They commoditize human beings, since commodities are only invested in based on the promise of delivering a result, the result being some benefit to the investor.

People date beauty, status, tax bracket, and whatever else they can manipulate and benefit from first. If you happen to be kind or have good character (whatever the fuck that means) then that’s a bonus to them because seeing the humanity in others or loving people for who they are comes second, or dead last even. But it should be no secret by now that the majority of humans roaming…
