Unpopular Opinion: Everyone Doesn’t Deserve Love!
“Finding love” is not that serious, even though our society creates mass hysteria about it through encouraging us to feel shitty about ourselves for being by ourselves!
One of the best things I have done for my mental health was relinquish the idea that I have to find a partner in this lifetime. From my observations, we as a society have crowned the pursuit of romance as the epitome of life itself. As a result, so many people from all walks of life are seriously questioning their self-esteem, their worthiness, and even their reasons for being alive, all because our society has deemed the rare accomplishment of earning a life partner who actually adds to their quality of life and not detract from it a requirement for happiness and fulfillment.
People are losing their everlasting minds over the fact that they haven’t secured a serious commitment from anyone in the time frame they expect. This unnecessary emotionalism is based on two factors: the false demand that we need romance just as much as we need food, electricity, money, and clean air to breathe; plus the illusion that we need one special person to navigate life with. Apparently we need one special person to feel loved, because we are supposed to make feeling loved and secure in the arms of someone else our everything.
