When Your Parents Are Proud Of You For Being Single & Childfree!

Tonight I received confirmation on how powerful words are. Because my dad’s compliments towards my brother and I really touched my soul.
I am spending the holidays with my immediate and extended family this Christmas, and tonight I finally got to catch up with my brother. We were laughing and chatting about different topics for hours, and it wasn’t until dad interrupted us that I finally realized he was watching us with a smile on his face for a few moments.
He goes, “I just gotta say something. I am proud of the both of you for not having kids. You two haven’t gotten into any trouble; y’all have never been arrested, went to prison, or did drugs. You never got caught up in having a boyfriend or girlfriend either. Because these choices to have kids and settle down in your 20s is foolish. It really messes up young people badly because the human brain isn’t even fully developed until age 25. So many people are making serious decisions and having regrets later.”
