When You’re A Black Woman Who Is Done With Black Women…

“Some black women are sinister to their core, in that their aim is to hook onto your soul like a parasite and eat you alive from the inside out.”

Years ago my ex and I broke up for many reasons, but I can recall one aspect of our relationship that didn’t run so smoothly. It was the fact that we were two black adults who didn’t see eye to eye when it came to our race.

My ex was hell-bent on “helping his people” while I kept trying to persuade him to leave them be. I have a learned a long time ago that as a generalized life rule of thumb people do not respond well to being helped. So just let them suffer! This rule definitely holds true in the black community. I was more than done with its antics a very long time ago.

Sure, the entire world is tricked into believing that we are victims, so of course I might be coming across as harsh to some.

Nonblack friends and readers, allow me to shed some light on this situation:

Black people are fine. Move on!

Seriously, I hate seeing innocent, well-meaning people get caught up in our dysfunctional shit, only for these same allies to regret the helping hand they’ve extended. I’ve been there and done that. Others have as well. Please move on.
