Why Women Brag About Clapping Back, Setting It Off, And Going “From 0–100 Real Quick”
I always think before I speak, and sometimes my thought process leads me to simply ignore angry people with a chip on their shoulders.
Many women feel victimized by people’s rudeness. At one point in my life I felt as if I had to clap back at anyone who even looked at me the wrong way because I was so damn angry with my life and I wanted to take my inner rage out on the world. But the deeper reason was fear: a fear of not having what it took to change my reality so that I could be at peace. A fear of looking stupid and defeated in front of others. A fear of feeling those unsettling emotions of humiliation.
These are the fears that fuel those ladies who brag about setting it off all the time. No shade, but they’re not as fearless as you may think. Through their loud mouths and comebacks they are creating the illusion of boldness to avoid meeting (and becoming) the more vulnerable parts of themselves.
Anyone who deems it unnecessary to be vulnerable in this world lives in fear. Point blank.
Sometimes, eliminating fear in our lives can mean we are okay with looking as if we are letting the person who is trying to trigger us into an argument win. Sometimes it means that we do not feel like we need to match anyone’s raggedy…
