Today is Sunday, and to start off a beautiful new week I want to share my thoughts on some words I received from the Instagram account of Katrina Kavvalos, a TV producer, red carpet host, and celebrity interviewer.

“Never re-friend someone who has tried to destroy your character, money, or relationship. A snake only sheds its skin to become a bigger snake.”

Now I am not here to tamper with Katrina’s words, because she is essentially correct. But the fact of the matter is that while these words ring true in our conscious mind, it is the deeper, more emotional subconscious mind that causes us to run, not walk, towards the snakes in our lives as if they simply woke up and decided to no longer be predators.

What I mean is that there is a reason why you feel as if you cannot help but return into the arms of hurt people who have hurt you. No matter how many “I deserve” mantras you recite every morning in front of your mirror your subconscious is not convinced that you have learned your lesson and you are ready to move on, even if you are heartbroken and your soul feels like it has been ripped out of your body and stepped on like a…
