I finally chose to quit holding on to any expectations and just let go. I finally told myself, “It’s all good.” I trust myself, I trust my body, and I trust my journey.

My life has always been a structure-free zone, even when I was forced from young to acclimate myself to deadlines, alarm clocks, school schedules, and of course the dreaded 9–5 corporate world.

As an insomniac and frankly, as a woman of ease who loves to adorn herself, I struggled in the world of the masculine where time, money, rest, and productivity must be accounted for at all times. After years of working against my feminine nature through jobs, and getting fed up with pressing pause and resume on my natural state of creativity and pleasure, I decided to cultivate a lifestyle that is rewarding for my spirit. The feminine needs to be free. And I am never going back.

I decided to rid myself of setting any nightly alarms for me to wake up and go to sleep. This technique is evidenced by many scientists to be effective for insomniacs. But my insomnia is rooted in spirituality, in forces greater than I am who may want to converse and dance with me during the witching hours. My energy is at its highest when the moon is shining against my bedroom window; when the world is asleep, dreaming and waiting for sunrise so they can start their lives all over again.
