I came across a reel created by a gorgeous wife, author, and content creator named Trinity Mitchell (IG handle: yourfriendtrin_) who shared some valuable insight in a video titled, “Secret Competition is Loud.”
“Secret competition ain’t as much of a secret as we sometimes act like it is. Secret competition is very loud.
It’s as loud as the moment you notice they celebrate and support everybody who does what you do, but just not you. Secret competition is as loud as the moment you notice they’re imitating you but doing it their own way. It’s as loud as the moment you notice them comparing themselves to you.
This is loud as the moment they reference what you posted online, however they did not comment or like it…it’s as loud as the moment where you realize they are doing the same exact thing you told them that you were gonna do but they didn’t tell you about it. ‘Cause they’re trying to beat you to it.
Secret competition ain’t no secret. You just refuse to call it what it is. But the sooner you accept that real friends do not compare or compete with you the better your life is gonna be and you’re going to enjoy your relationships…
