You Don’t Need Permission From Beyoncé To Fall In Love With Your Body!
While Beyoncé claims she loves fupas she also wouldn’t be caught dead having one.
During one of the pitstops of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour a fan filmed the musician pausing her show to give a teary-eyed tribute to women’s bodies with the following message:
“I’m thankful for every fupa.”
The woman who recorded her words posted the clip, along with a confession that she sobbed when the artist stated this. Many other ladies reposted and stitched the reel, proudly showing off their stomachs in solidarity with the artist who claimed she was thankful for this part of a woman’s body.
Now I am not going to pretend that I understand the context of Bey’s message to make sense of why she would say such a thing, nor am I going to declare that what she said was wrong, because it wasn’t. However, I cannot help but take the spotlight off of Beyoncé and shine some light on the many ladies all over the world who now feel empowered to show love to their tummies, all because a female mogul gave them permission to do so.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think it can be harmful and emotionally damaging to seek a sense of love and validation of the beauty you already possess from celebrities who are only telling you what you want to hear to earn…
